This book captures the drama and flavor of Jerusalem in its story of that city from the earliest times to the present day. Jerusalem is richly illustrated with both ancient engravings and maps and magnificent photographs of the city and its holy places specially taken for this book. Teddy Kollek is known world-wide as the mayor of Jerusalem who presided over the unification of the city after the Six Day War in 1967. But long before this he was a leading civil servant who held many important positions for Israel. He has long been a student of Jerusalem’s history and a number of the documentary illustrations in this book are reproduced from his personal collection. Moshe Pearlman is a writer, soldier, diplomat and government official. He is the author of The Capture and Trial of Adolph Eichmann, Ben Gurion Looks Back, Historical Sites in Israel, and Zealots of Masada, among others. . 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall .
