Malachi Martin (1921 1999) , was an Irish-born American Traditionalist Catholic priest, biblical archaeologist, exorcist, palaeographer, professor, and prolific writer on Roman Catholic Church affairs. Ordained as a Jesuit priest, Martin became Professor of Palaeography at the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome. From 1958, he served as secretary to Cardinal Augustin Bea during preparations for the Second Vatican Council. Disillusioned by direction taken by Vatican II, Martin asked to be released from certain aspects of his Jesuit vows in 1964 and moved to New York City. Martin was frequently critical of the Catholic hierarchy, who he believed had failed to act on what he called "the Third Prophecy" revealed by the Virgin Mary at Fátima. 'Jesus Now' is perhaps the most controversial of all of Malachi Martin's books. The credentials of the author, the importance and sweeping nature of his thesis, its timing in view of the huge resurgence of interest in his subject, and the widespread longing for something vital, yet seemingly lost, in modern life, each adds another dimension to the eloquence and unequivocal impact of this book. 'Jesus Now' is a compelling statement (in some respects a theological breakthrough) of the vital action of Jesus of Nazareth in the lives of men and women today. In a unique and already controversial series of cameo portraits, the author dramatizes the principal roles thrust upon Jesus in the modern context. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; xvii, 317 pages .
