Notation on front endpapers indicating from the Mascontah Elementary School library - 1943. Tape repair opposite title page. READING COPY of scarce hardcover edition. Stated 2nd printing 1942. 143 pages. True story of a Llewellyn English Setter born in 1925 and eventually owned by Sam Van Arsdale of Marshall Missouri. The dog had an uncanny ability to understand the English language and could respond to questions, the answers to which his master did not know.. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Hardcover. Fair/No Jacket.
