Condition: Good, with light shelfwear to covers. Binding sound, no inscriptions. Dustjacket condition: Fair, generally shelfworn and lightly soiled, with a couple of small chips and tears. Not price-clipped. Loosely inserted is a subscribers copy compliment slip signed by the author. 184pp. 8 b/w plates plus frontispiece. John Abernethy (1764-1831) was an eminent teacher of surgery and the founder of St.Bartholomew's Hospital Medical College. This volume gathers together all the available materical including many of his letters and a bibliography of his writings. .
