Sobre este artículo

Dawsons of Pall Mall, London, 1966 reprint of 1939 first edition. Cloth, 8vo,. xiv, 359 pp. Approximately 500 entries. Still the standard primary bibliography of Dryden's works, this work also describes commentaries on them published up to 1767. Separate listings cover Dryden's poems, miscellanies, collected editions of poems, plays, separate prologues and epilogues, collected editions of plays, contributed prologues and epilogues, prose, attributed works, letters, Drydeniana, and Poems on Affairs of State. MacDonald includes much valuable information on the printing and publishing histories of Dryden's works. From the conclusion of a contemporary review by John Carter: 2Mr. Macdonald has given us a thorough, scholarly, and probably definitive bibliography, interspersed with valuable disquisitions on the biographical and literary background. Only true aficionados of Dryden will read it for pleasure, but every rare book dealer, every library and all collectors of the Restoration Period will want it on their shelves. Very Good.
