Acknowledgements, list of plates, introduction by author, appendix, notes, bibliography and index. Illustrated end pages, being reproductions of artwork done by Stuart on expeditions. Photographic frontispiece of John McDouall Stuarttaken about 1863. The text is illustrated with 18 black-and-white photographs or illustrations; and eight maps within the text. Rust coloured cloth covered boards with gilt coloured titles to the back strip. Illustrated dustwrapper (wraparound) with black and white coloured titles to the front panel and black coloured titles to the back strip. A biography of the 19th century Australian explorer John McDouall, along with the traversing of Australia from South to North with little recognition and few rewards at the time. Minor rubbing of the book corners and softening of the back strip edges. Light browning and foxing of the text block edges with age toning of the pages. Foxing throughout the book, most heavy at the beginning and at the end of the book. A little chipping of the dustwrapper corners with rubbing of the edges and panels. Fading of the back strip and there is an impression of foxing to the dustwrapper. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. [4], V - XIII, [1] 319, [3] pages,. Dust Jacket price-clipped. We seem to specialize in non mainstream stuff but read and stock Science-fiction, fantasy, detective fiction, history, biography and true crime, war, natural history. cooking, children's books and try to avoid current text books.We probably have the largest collection of Science Fiction, Penguins and general crime in Victoria in an open shop ( David has 8 bookcases 900mm x 2200mm of sf and f) ( Penny has 8 bookcases 1200mm x 2400 of sf and f )On shelf each shop has 30,000 plus books and we list over 30000 books online
