The demonstration, a response to the Supreme Court's Bakke decision banning racial "quotas" as unconstitutional, was called by the Buffalo and Rochester Committee to Overturn the Bakke Decision, the Chilean Refugee Committee, Movimiento Agueybana, Workers World Party, and the Committee to Clear Kenny Johnson.
