Bumped spine ends and bottom edge. Corners lightly bumped. Top text block edge dusty. Endpapers tanning and just starting to fox. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. Dust jacket has 2cm closed tear at spine head, red stains to front, shelf wear, chipping to edges, minor loss, mirrors book damage, price clipped. 8vo. Poor Mr. Carp - put upon by everyone, from dear Mother, with her deaf-aid, and The Sorrows of Satan, to the formidable Maude (now in the ninth year of their betrothal) and little Harrison, the malevolent result of her previous and otherwise childless marriage. Illustrated with some of the funniest and most brilliantly observed drawings Searle has ever done.
