Books with tight bindings, sharp corners, and clean pages, mild shelf wear to spine bottoms. From the library of John H. Poole. Laid in is a letter dated Nov. 4, 1921, from Keith Spalding, a manufacturer of steel furniture and president of the Durand Steel Locker Company in Chicago, to Col. John Hudson Poole of Pasadena, California, passing on some words of praise about Poole he heard from a friend who had served in the Army under General Dawes (author of these two books) . Poole, a one-time Army officer and a White House military aide under Theodore Roosevelt, committed suicide in 1940. Illustrated with b&w photos; 334 pp. And 283 pp. Including index. Free of any markings, not ex-library. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .
