Sobre este artículo

Washington DC: Howard University, College of Education, 1938. Hardcover. Very Good. Hardcover. FROM THE JNE WEBSITE: "The Journal of Negro Education (JNE), a refereed scholarly periodical, was founded at Howard University in 1932 to fill the need for a scholarly journal that would identify and define the problems that characterized the education of Black people in the United States and elsewhere, provide a forum for analysis and solutions, and serve as a vehicle for sharing statistics and research on a national basis. JNE sustains a commitment to a threefold mission: first, to stimulate the collection and facilitate the dissemination of facts about the education of Black people; second, to present discussions involving critical appraisals of the proposals and practices relating to the education of Black people; and third, to stimulate and sponsor investigations of issues incident to the education of Black people." The journal has been in continuous publication by Howard University since 1932, when it was founded by Charles H. Thompson. This is VOLUME VII, a very early publication. Early volumes are very scarce outside of libraries. No. 2 includes an article by W.E.B. du Bois on how Negroes have taken advantage of educational opportunities. N., 3 focuses on the role of the Federal government in Negro education, including participation of Negro schools in Federal education grants. No. 4 contains several articles on occupational education and occupational opportunities for Negroes. In addition to Du Bois, contributions by D.O.W. Holmes, John W. Davis, Charles H. Thompson, and many others. Bound in green cloth boards with gilt title to spine. Sunning to spine. Pages are yellowed but clean. Ex-library with stamp to title page from Saint Joseph Society Library, Baltimore. Additional library stamps on a few pages. 613 pages, including index. AFAMER/042524.
