Sobre este artículo
Oakland, California: Biobooks, 1955. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Foreword by Joseph A. Sullivan. First California Edition, one of 500 copies printed at The Abbey Press. This journal is one of the few known from the emigration of 1848. Riley Root left home in Knox County, Illinois on April 3, 1848; arrived in Oregon City, Oregon Territory on September 13; and reached California the following spring on May 7, 1849. Root provided his readers with information on the Oregon reaction to the Gold Rush, geography and geology of the gold district, varieties of gold, mode of searching for gold, and a general description of California. Green cloth-covered boards over a gold cloth spine with black lettering. A very good copy. Kurutz, G.: The California Gold Rush, #543b.
