128 pp. with 1 full page illustration, 3 full page facsimiles and 41 text illustrations (mostly portraits of flyers and airplanes).  A rare book. National Union Catalog (NUC) locates only 8 copies. The author was a Jewish physician and author from Berlin who served as a doctor in the German army. He was dismayed to constantly hear in the media that Jews were not doing their part in W.W.I and worse, that there were no Jewish pilots since they were deemed too cowardly to fly. He was determined to set the record straight and during the war in 1918 wrote "Jüdische Flieger im Kriege" which he revised with this work in 1924 giving an account of over 100 Jewish pilots who flew for Germany. At the time the book was received coldly in Germany. The pictures show Jewish airmen of World War I and their aircraft, including two with a swastika, a queen and one of the Jewish airman Beckhard. Dedicated to "Dem Reichsbund jüdischer Frontsoldaten". Brief accounts of Jewish flyers who flew with the German Air Force during World War I. Among the biographies are: Jacob Wolff, Wilhelm Frankl, and Fritz Beckhardt. Many entries in the book are memorials, as casualties in the German Army Air Corps were comparable to those of the Royal Flying Corps. An unusual item about Jewish flyers whose fate of death in battle for the Kaiser and Germany starkly differs from that of their fellow Jews at the hands of the Nazi regime just a few years later.
