Like any good farm boy, Johnny tries to put his mule Skedaddle to work but it's no use - the mule won't pull a wagon or plow, and when Johnny hires him out to deliver groceries, everything ends up in the creek! Finally, he trades Skedaddle in on a horse, but it isn't long before the mule comes back hom. Finally though, when it is really needed, the mule comes into his own.. Illus. by Henneberger, Robert. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Hardcover. Very Good/Good.
