Sobre este artículo

London : T. Cadell , 1785. Leather. Good. 9" by 5.5" . None. A complete four volume set of Richard Burns' important work on the British justice of the peace. A scarce fifteenth edition. In a full calf binding. 'The Justice of the Peace, and Parish Officer,' was for many years the standard authority on the law relating to justices of the peace and remains an important and highly regarded piece of work today. Crimes and issues discussed in this work include excise, customs, homicide, robbery, libel, polygamy, assault, and more. Published in the midst of Georgian England, this work shows the development of the system of local governments across the country. Published in the same year as the author's death. With publisher's advertisements to the rear of volume four. In full calf binding. Externally, sound with rubbing and shelf wear. Marks to the boards and spine. Joints loosening but still attached. Each volume has a bookplate to the front paste-down. Offsetting to the paste-downs and free endpapers. The paste-down has become loose in volume four. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean with age-toning and scattered spots throughout. There are a few pages with foxing on the appendix of volume four. A few handling marks throughout. Good
