Color illustrations by Anatole Ur. PROBLEM: production error back DJ panel - pale mylar wrinkle top and bottom of the panel. Not horrible, but there. Decorated end pages. CONTENT: Originally written as a treatise on human nature for the princes of India and translated here from a 12th century Persian text, Kalilah & Dimnah has instructed and entertained both adults and children since the 3rd century. Seen through the eyes of two jackals, these imaginative tales of a fantastic animal kingdom explore the universal questions of truth and deceit, ambition and loyalty, fear and power. It is a testament to man's eternal conflict between good and evil.
