Sobre este artículo
One of 3 000 copies published.
This story by a well-known writer Emily Mindlin (1900-1981) is devoted to an old man who come to look at the Dnieper Hydroelectric Station construction, the largest hydroelectric power station on the Dnieper River. First edition in Russian was issued in 1933.
The station was built in two stages. DniproHES-1 was originally built between 1927-1932 but was destroyed during WWII to make the river harder for the advancing German forces to cross. It was rebuilt between 1944-1950.
Illustrations were created by the Ukrainian illustrator Lev Kaplan (1899-1972).
