Armorial bookplate to the front pastedown, a trace of very light toning to the front free endpaper alongside a tiny sliver of tape residue marking. A virtually fine copy in price-clipped dust wrapper, lightly faded at the spine panel and at several margins of the front and rear panels. Eliot's six-page foreword precedes lengthy essays on George Gissing, Katherine Mansfield and 'The Novels of Henry Williamson'..
