One of many books of children's stories & poems by English writer and poet, Rose Amy Fyleman (1877-1957) popular in her day for her works on "fairy folk." She first collaborated with Kruse on an earlier book in 1927, "The Katy Kruse Dolly Book." Kruse, born Katharina Simon (1883-1968) was a pioneering German doll-maker who later expanded to making mannequins. Her factory is still in operation in Donauwörth today. In 32 pp with12 color plates by Kruse depicting her mannequin/doll children in various activities, including dancing, skiing, riding miniature motorcycles, cars, & planes, boating, playing soccer, on playground equipment, swimming. Small quarto (8.5" x 10"), in publisher's navy blue cloth with colorful paper pastedown covering nearly the entire front board. Condition is VG+. All plates have clean white margins & bright colors, with just a hint of tanning. Text pages are more heavily tanned, with light foxing (heavy to exterior edges, a few scattered soiled spots & smudges. Modest rubbing to extremities, heaviest at lower outer corners, with cloth frayed down to boards.
