With illustrated frontispiece. Pages are rather marked with pronounced tanning and foxing, plus thumbing. Many dog-eared corners. Gutters somewhat cracked with slightly exposed netting. Frontispiece loose. Foxing more intense towards the start and end of the book and on text block edges. Boards have some edge wear, with some bumping and fraying to corners, while spine ends are crushed and frayed. Ugly split to lower front joint. Rather scratched, rubbed and marked overall. Some water staining to front and rear. Book has a slight forward lean. Gilt is bright.
