Sobre este artículo
Washington, D.C.: Anderson House, 1939. First Edition, First Printing. Hardcover with Dust Jacket. Near Fine/Very Good.
Bound in dark gray cloth with stamped dark red lettering to spine and front cover. Illustrated endpages. The bindings are tight and square. Text clean, light even toning. Minimal shelf handling wear. 8vo; 7.985 inches tall, [vi],125,[1] pages. The wrap-around dust jacket has even age-toning with a bit more darkening on the spine, moderate hand/age soiling; a closed tear on the upper front and lower rear edge, tiny loss at the top of the spine. The price of $2.50 is present. Now protected in a new clear Mylar sleeve. [The jacket as issued is 1/8th inch taller than the book.]
. Key Largo, a play by Maxwell Anderson, unfolds in verse with a prologue and two acts. Set in Key Largo, Florida, during a hurricane, it portrays Frank McCloud, a WWII veteran, visiting the family of a fallen comrade. He discovers the hotel occupied by gangster Johnny Rocco, evading the law. Amidst rising tension and violence, McCloud must safeguard the trapped innocents, delving into themes of morality, loyalty, and the aftermath of violence.
Basis for the Oscar-winning 1948 film noir directed by John Huston, starring Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, Edward G. Robinson, and Lionel Barrymore. A handsome copy of a scarce film noir source title, one that is almost always difficult to find in anything resembling collectable condition.
