Bu yerleşimler Hellenistik Dönem'den gelen ve Roma ve Geç Antik Dönem'de de devam eden bir sürekliliğe sahiptirler. Silifke'nin 13 km kuzeyindeki Karaböcülü, bu yerleşimler arasında öne çıkar. Yerleşimin sahip olduğu kalıntılar, Hellenistik Dönem'den itibaren iskan gördüğüne; Roma ve Geç Antik Dönem'de büyük bir kırsal yerleşim olduğuna dair kanıtlar sunar.
