The purpose of this King Kong - Paramount Press Book and Merchandishing Manual was to provide information about the film, King Kong, available to the press, advertisers, theater owners and others so as to help them in their favorable communications to the public that would hopefully lead to a profitable film run. The booklet also provides a catalog of items available for theater owners to purchase, such as posters, lobby cards, advertisement materials, etc. that would help attract the public to come to see the film. The overall aim was to achieve a financially successful result for the film's maker and film theaters.
The booklet, which measures approximately 8 ½ x 11 inches, contains 48 pages (including the paper covers). It was published in 1976 by Dino De Laurentiis Corporation for Paramount, A Gulf+ Western Company. The booklet is in near fine condition.
The illustrations accompanying this description show the front cover, a 2-page spread of information about the film, a 2-page spread of text items that could be used, an Ad to be used in 6 Column width Newspapers, and another Ad to be used in 6 column width Newspapers.
