Based on the 1976 novel by Manuel Puig, about two cellmates who form an unusual bond during their imprisonment in a Brazilian prison. Nominated for the Palme d'Or. Puig's novel also served as the basis for a Broadway musical, produced in 1993, with a book by Terrence McNally.
Set and shot on location in São Paolo, Brazil.
