DURING THE EDO PERIOD . * This shows the typical style of northern Osaka residents during the 1830's [Tempo] period. This style is 'showy' with elaborate long-flowing sleeves, giving the wearer an elegant appearance. . Osaka was known for its 'flamboyant' attitude towards dressy costumes and lavish decorations.
