Color pictorial endpapers; color pictorial title, 14 full-page color illustrations and numerous smaller color illustrations. Edges a tad rubbed, cover label showing just the very slightest evidence of wear, minute trace of foxing at fore edge, else a remarkably clean, bright copy. One of the finest copies we've ever seen.
First edition. A stunning copy of Maxfield Parrish's final work and masterpiece! Known for his richly saturated colors and adaptations of neoclassical forms and settings, Maxfield Parrish spent three years creating the gorgeous and elaborate artwork seen in this breathtaking volume that is widely considered his most masterful creation.
