Sobre este artículo
New York: Scribner’s, 1925. First Edition illustrated by Parrish. Small folio, publisher’s cloth with front cover paper label. An exceptional, fine, clean and bright copy in what appears to be the original glassine unprinted dust jacket (but not in the publisher’s box). Very uncommon in such excellent condition. These are generally acknowledged to be among his best illustrations: Parrish was especially well-served here by a beautifully made volume with superbly reproduced color illustrations. Scribner’s spared no obvious expense, pricing the book at $10.00, a very high price for the day, which may have contributed to its lack of commercial success. The later, spiral bound edition’s printing is noticeably inferior. By far the author’s best known work, she was somewhat overshadowed by the fame of her husband, the great literary editor Maxwell Perkins.
