London: Mitchell and Hughes , 1896. First Edition. Maroon Cloth. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾. N/a. Two titles bound in one but only the former title stamped in gilt to the spine. Contemporary maroon slightly pebbled cloth. Both titles reprinted from 'Archaeolgia Cantiana' First title: 45pp. 7 illustrative plates. Second title: 8pp. 3 plates. A circular soil mark about 1cm in diameter to the margin of the final plate with an offset soil mark to the tissue guard. A former owner's ink name - R.E. Wadmore (clearly a relative of the author) to the head of the front endpaper. A little rubbing to the head and tail of the spine. Bumps to the lower two board corners. The loss of the corner of a tissue guard in the second title. The cloth spine a little uniformly faded. A very good, clean, tight copy.
