An exceptionally fine copy, with the covers very bright and crisp. Of this aborted edition, Donald Gallup states: "Not published... All save 'a very few' of the bound copies were destroyed by the publishers. This abortive edition... was eventually replaced by the published (corrected and expanded) edition... 45 proof copies, so marked, bound in printed paper wrappers, were circulated and one review actually appeared... but most of these copies were recalled by the publishers and also destroyed." An extremely scarce proof copy. Gallup A75a (note).
