New York: United May Day Committee, 1939. 8.5x11 inch handbill printed both sides, stain to one corner. Demands included the freedom of Warren K. Billings, passage of anti-lynching legislation, opposition to anti-Semitism and anti-Catholic bigotry, a six hour day, and more. The Committee was led by the Communist Party, which led the Socialist Party to refuse participation in this effort to unite a broad swath of the Left for a major demonstration.
