Publisher's blue cloth lettered in gilt to spine, illustrated dust-jacket with printed price of 2/- to front cover and spine. Toning to edges of textblock and pages, rubbing to gilt, bumping to spine and edges, tape applied to tearing at crown and base of spine as well as flaps, spotting visible to reverse of jacket to spine, chipping to edges. Very good. The last twelve cases to be taken on by Hercule Poirot before his planned retirement, with an ingenious link to the ancient world and the Belgian detective's heroic namesake. These stories were first published in a single volume in 1947, and this later, vintage edition was published in 1951.
