Five raised bands to spine, gilt lettering to compartments two and three, elaborate gilt decoration to other compartments. Teg. Binding by Riviere and Son for the Army and Navy. 8.75ins x 6.5ins, marbled endpapers, x, [ii], 360pp plus 60 tissue guarded colour plates and a folding map. Gift inscription, dated 1920, takes up most of first blank page. Scattered foxing to text pages with first and last few pages being the worst affected. This is scarcest of the A&C Black twenty shilling series as only 1000 copies were printed instead of the more usual print run of 3000 copies. A VG variant binding.
