Sobre este artículo

Paris: NP, 1895. Limited First edition. Hardcover. g. Folio. Publisher's proof copy. Unpaginated. Original 3/4 blue cloth over marbled paper covered boards, with gold lettering and decoration on spine. Four-color lithograph title-page signed in pencil and numbered by the artist. Rare and fascinating illustrated work by Henri-Gabriel Ibels, depicting a Pierrot and a ballerina in love. Interior conists of five one-color lithographs (red; black ; yellow; green; blue) and one vignette. Henri-Gabriel Ibels (1867-1936) was a close friend of Lautrec and they both utilized Japanese motifs and the use of "crachis" in their lithographs. Ibels had been associated with the Nabis and was among the foremost printmakers in the 1890's (Color Revolution 94). Minor rubbing along edges of binding, and slight soiling on covers. Sporadic foxing throughout, especially on lower outer margin of pages. Binding in overall good, interior in good to very good condition.
