Fece parte della Massoneria. Dopo i moti del '21, ai quali non partecipo', venne condannato all'esilio, prima all'estero, poi dal 1823 a Tronzano, suo paese natale. Nel 1839 fu graziato e nel 1841 fu nominato sindaco di Vercelli. In appendice 'iscrizioni' e 'documenti'.
