Illustrated throughout with frontispiece, a folding map, and over two hundred and fifty in-text illustrations, some of which are full-paged. Collated complete. An account of the peninsula of Scandinavia and the life of its people through a series of journeys made by the author, with stories from the Arctic circle, the fjords, islands, and much more. Written by Paul Belloni Du Chaillu, a French-American traveler, zoologist, and anthropologist. Bound in half calf with brown cloth boards. Externally, smart with rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Minor loss to the leather, particularly the spine. Joints starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with light spotting to the first and last few pages. Tear of approx. 3" to folding map due to handling. Very Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
