Sobre este artículo

Phyllis Fogelman Books, 2001. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. EX-LIBRARY book with dust jacket wrapped in mylar, taped to boards. Previous library barcode on back of dust jacket has been clipped out. Aside from a rare light smudge mark- in the margins of a few pages and to the edges (top, bottom and fore), book is clean and crisp.

Paul-Edward, son of a white plantation owner and a slave mother of African-Indian heritage, follows his dream of owning his own land through hard work and determination. Prequel to Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry.

Sinopsis

The son of a prosperous landowner and a former slave, Paul-Edward Logan is unlike any other boy he knows. His white father has acknowledged him and raised him openly-something unusual in post-Civil War Georgia. But as he grows into a man he learns that life for someone like him is not easy. Black people distrust him because he looks white. White people discriminate against him when they learn of his black heritage. Even within his own family he faces betrayal and degradation. So at the age of fourteen, he sets out toward the only dream he has ever had: to find land every bit as good as his father's, and make it his own. Once again inspired by her own history, Ms. Taylor brings truth and power to the newest addition to the award-winning Logan family stories.

Sobre Red Owl Books

I specialize in hand-picked, children's used books. Children's books have always been my passion. Stories about Family Values; Inner Strength & Peace; our Earth Mother & her Creatures; Legends & Folklore of all kinds are a sample of the types of books I want to share. Many adults (including me), need these stories as much as our children do. Touched by the illustrators' beautiful work, the author's heartfelt words- I gather the books that move me and offer them to you.
