Single sheet showing Welsh Coast line from Pembroke up to Penmaen Mawr & Anglesey, shows rhumb lines, coastal soundings, compass rose, dedication to Sr. Clodisley Shouell and Rear Admiral of the Blew in a coloured horizontal oval cartouche, tree to background, red flowers to foreground, cherub to right, scale below cartouche, across the top there are 5 panels showing the coastal profiles of Ramsey Island, Scamor, Grasholm, Barzey Island and St Brides, central vertical fold. Excellent condition, clean with wide margins. In the top, left corner of the boxes there is the number 26 which I presume indicates the page number for this chart within Collin's Great Britain's Coasting Pilot)

Dedicatory cartouche to 'the Hon. the Governor, deputy Govornor and Committees of the East India Company...' Rhumb lines and soundings..The Great Britain Coasting Pilot was the result of the first systematic survey of British coastal waters. It took eight years to complete, and was used by the Royal Navy for navigating British waters for many years. The charts are notable for both their accuracy and their charm.Captain Greenvile Collins was an outstanding naval officer who became 'Hydrographer to the King' before the Coasting Pilot was published.
