The text is illustrated with copious black-and-white and colour photographs, maps and the occasional black-and-white illustration. Embossed titles, illustration and coloured background cloth covered boards with gilt coloured titles to the back strip. Gilt to the top text block edge. A series of books, of which this is number 2, first published in 1929. A look at the people and places around the world. Very out of date now, but interesting nonetheless as the photographs show a world that was, not is. This book looks at the world of Scandinavia, Iceland, middle Europe, Czechoslovakia, Austria, Italy. Rubbing to the back strip edges, book panels and book corners. Age toning of the text block edges and to the end page maps. Foxing to the first few and last few pages of the book. Offset tanning to the endpages. Size: 4to 9¾" - 12" tall.
