Sobre este artículo
Padova, Italy: Nella stamperia del Semin. appresso Gio Manfre, 1715. Hardcover. A wonderful early anatomical work that includes obstetrical plates. The Italian edition translated from the original French, and with additions by Agostino Saraceni. The 1680 first French edition is entitled, 'L'anatomie du corps humain: Avec ses maladies, & les remedes pour les guerir selon les auteurs anciens et modernes'. Saint Hilaire was an overlooked French physician whose works rarely come on the market today. Marvelous woodcut engravings, many of them full page.
This work examines the different structures of the body, followed by diseases and abnormalities. While this is not a scholarly work, it provides good, practical information, and covers the brain, nerves, muscles and organs, and explores diseases and deformities.
Small 4to, [4], 468, [8], 469 - 570pp. 54 wood block engravings, mostly full page. Laid watermarked paper, with a very sympathetic private library stamp at the title page. The boards are of the original vellum, with the title written in ink on the front cover; sympathetically respined. 'Ex Libris' and the signature "Martino D. Marij de Comiji" added in the margins of the title page. OCLC: 15053711 records 9 copies.
