Black coloured cloth covered boards with gilt coloured titles to the back strip. Illustrated dustwrapper with white and black coloured titles to the front panel and blue and white coloured titles to the back strip. 20 short stories by the author all set in Australia's topic regions. They deal with "... Goats, buffaloes, crocodiles, cattle; Chinese, Japanese, Aboriginals, bricks;, racing, boxing, shooting, cattle-raising, lining and flying; peanuts, pandanus and pawpaw; pathos when the half-caste searches for his place in society, murder on the outback stations and comedy in the towns ...'' – from front fold over panel blurb. Softening of the back strip edges with rubbing of the book corners. Uniform light tanning of the text block edges and pages. The dustwrapper is in not great shape: – chipping of the front dustwrapper corners and back strip edges. The front panel has been torn from the rest of the dustwrapper, and there is a tear to the top right-hand corner of the same panel – the dustwrapper is now in library sleeving. Fading to the back strip with a little rubbing and handling marks of the rear panel. This is the first Australian edition. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. [7], VIII - XIII, [4], 2 - 248 pages,.
