No Place: No Publisher. Near Fine. 1975. Softcover. The steam Mataafa was originally a bulk carrier on the Great Lakes and then used as a car carrier. She sank in 1905 outside the Duluth harbor with a loss of nine lives. This account is from the "Duluth Evening Herald" from 1905 and includes several photos of the steamer for this booklet. Original publisher's orange, stapled, printed covers with black cover lettering and decoration. There is a small old bookshop price sticker inside the front wrapper, else this is a nice clean, tight and unmarked book with no interior or exterior markings, no previous owner names and no bookplates. The covers are in nice condtion with no creases, tears or chips. This booklet appears to have been unread and is an uncommon title. ; B&W Photographs; 8vo, 8"- 9" tall; [32] pages .
