Illustrated with frontispiece and fifteen plates. Collated complete. Following the House of Medici, an Italian banking family and political dynasty that first consolidated power in the Republic of Florence under Cosimo de' Medici, during the first half of the 15th century. With particular reference to Cosimo III, Grand Duke of Tuscany from 1670 until his death in 1723, the sixth and penultimate from the House of Medici. Written by Harold Acton, a British writer, scholar, and aesthete who was a prominent member of the Bright Young Things. In the original green cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine and boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout. Previous owner's bookplate to front pastedown. Very Good

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
