Mystery-suspense novel set in a small Northern Michigan town and revolving around a local lawyer who attempts to obtain justice for a beautiful Chippewa Indian girl and her tribe. Based on an actual case tried in the Michigan courts in the mid nineteenth century. Authored by Robert Traver, pen name of John D. Voelker, District Attorney for Marquette County, MI, who later became a Justice of the Michigan Supreme Court. His 1958 novel "Anatomy Of A Murder" was made into the award winning Otto Preminger film of the same name starring Jimmy Stewart and Lee Remick.
