Printed for M. Cowper,, 1776. 1776 12mo in 6s. viii, 9 - 200; [4], 106, [2] p. Contemporary sprinkled sheep. Spine with raised bands and contrasting lettering piece. Lightly rubbed on corners and a small chip from the lettering piece. Early signature on the title and an unobtrusive marginal stain at the head. Random light spotting of the paper in 'Peg'. A very good copy. The two parts of John Bull were first published in 1712 and Peg in 1760 (but without the Key, which appeared later.) ESTC t 220414, with locations at O; E; only. The imprint is spurious, possibly intended to be confused with Mary Cooper.
