Sobre este artículo
London: Routledge, 1948. First British Edition. Cloth. Near Fine/Near Fine. PRESENTATION COPY SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR, "Proof Copy" 8vo, red cloth with gold lettering on spine, Mylar-protected dust jacket (unclipped) with red lettering and rectangular rule surround on front cover, binder's slip stating "Owing to production delays / this book was not published / until 1948," xi + 194 pages. PRESENTATION COPY by Author of a SCARCE early collection of Farrell's essays probably delayed due to postwar paper shortages. James T. Farrell (1904-1979) was a prolific American novelist, short story writer, and poet best known for his blue-collar, Irish-Catholic Depression-era stories set in Chicago. Farrell's best known works are a trilogy about the tough, gritty, initially promising though progressively tragic life (often autobiographical) of impoverished young, Irish-Catholic Studs Lonigan: Young Lonigan (1931), The Young Manhood of Studs Lonigan (1934), and Judgment Day (1935). The series was made into a film in 1960 and tv series in 1979. SCARCE. Internally clean and tight. A few chips to the head of the dj at top of spine, otherwise a remarkably well preserved and clean dust jacket.
