A contemporary review of the book in the Saturday Review on 8 December 1928 stated "Mr. Rackham's illustrations are beautifully suited to Washington Irving's Legend of Sleepy Hollow... This book is exceptionally well produced". Octavo. Original green cloth, spine and front cover lettered in gilt, front cover with vignette in gilt, illustrated endpapers, top edge gilt. With dust jacket. Colour frontispiece and 7 colour plates, title page printed in green and black, black and white illustrations in the text, all by Rackham. Extremities very slightly bumped and rubbed, some light browning; slightly soiled unpriced jacket worn at extremities with tears to spine and front cover, tape repairs to reverse: a near-fine copy in a very good jacket.
