English literature 006 Catherine, of Alexandria, Saint. The Legend of St. Katherine of Alexandria. Edited, from a manuscript in the Cottonian library, by James Morton. (Series: Abbotsford Club. Publications, no. 20). London: Printed for the Abbotsford Club, 1841, xv, 143, [1] pages. In original cloth binding, 8 ½" x 10 ¾", parts of spine are missing, some damp spotting to end pages and some intermittent light spotting in text. Good copy overall. This is not a reprint but the original first edition, 1 of 70 copies printed. Very scarce.
Notes: Old English or "Semi-Saxon" poem, with English version at foot of page, and glossary at end. "Presented to the members of the Abbotsford Club by James Morton." James Morton, 1783-1865.
