A intriguing biographical work on the early nineteenth century poet and writer Letitia Elizabeth Landon, related through narrative and original material. Bound in textured pink silk with gilt lettering. There are seven platestaken from works by the painter Daniel Maclise, includingtwo portraits ofLandon. The book was formerly owned by the poet and civil servant Hubert Wolfe, one of the most popular authors of the 1920s. Condition: The binding is generally tight and firm. There is some wear to the extremities, including bumping and sunning to the spine. Internally the pages are generally bright and clean, with some occasional light spotting. The front free-endpaper has an ink signature and date written by Wolfe and an embossed ownership stamp for Wolfe's house. Overall the condition is very good..
