Sinopsis

To Let is the final part of The Forsyte Saga , a series of five works by John Galsworthy, three full length books, and two shorter works set between the novels. The series relates the dramatic travails of one family in the British gentry, the Forsytes. This book, the third full-length novel in the series, tells the story of the latest generation in a tale of tragic love. The series was adapted to film first in the 1920s as a silent movie, then multiple times for television through the succeeding decades, most recently in 2003. The saga was continued by Forsyte in sequels covering the adventures of related families, thought these books are considered tangental to the main series. To Let was first published in Great Britain by William Heinemann. First British editions of this book range in cost into the hundreds of dollars, and is important to collectors because it concludes this important series by the Nobel Prize winning author. Common problems include wearing to the spine, and pages that are age-tanned. This classic book is considered a gem of English literature, often reviewed and analyzed by critics, students, and readers. The first US edition was published by Charles Scribner's Sons in 1928. This edition is not generally considered collectible, with prices commonly under $20.00. However, this book is an important addition to any serious collection of Galsworthy.
