Title page and facing page printed in red and black; initial letter printed in red and black. Pages are unopened. In Godkin's letter, first published in the London Daily News on March 7, 1865, he reflects on Abraham Lincoln's accomplishments in his first term as president. Written shortly after Lincoln's inauguration to his second term, the letter's praise for his work is poignant given that he was assassinated five weeks later. In Very Good+ Condition: stitching is broken; clean and bright.
