First American Edition. 8vo 9" - 10" tall; 222pp. Quarter black cloth over tan boards, gilt spine titles. Both volume and unclipped jacket are in mint condition without marks, tears or folds. Rupert Chawner Brooke (1887-1915) was an English poet known for his idealistic war sonnets written during the First World War. This is a series of letters to the "Westminster Gazette" describing Brooke's observations and reactions to his journey through the United States and Canada just prior to World War I.
